History of Cosmetic Surgery #RichFamousLifestyle

Now, all over the world, a lot of people, and here have considered having Plastic Surgery, or Cosmetic Surgery. Plastic Surgery is a wide term for operative manual and instrumental treatment that is performed for aesthetic or functional reasons. Clinical treatment for injuries that are Facial dates back over 4,000 years.

Cosmetic Surgery was understood to have been performed in Roman times. The Romans had the power to perform simple processes like repairing damaged ears, in modern times referred to it is among the most straightforward of processes. One report discusses a patient getting his earlobes fixed after years. The extra lobes were trimmed and the hole sewn. Among the higher priced plastic surgeries performed at the time, the removal of scars and branding, was a process that is generally executed. Free slaves paid a high price indeed for such operation.

From ancient times we discover a living convention of plastic surgeries of ear, the nose and lip. The Kangra (right pronounced as 'Kangada') district was well-known because of its plastic surgeons. The British archaeologist Sir Alexander Cunningham (181493) had written about the tradition. We also have advice that in Akber's reign,a Vaidya named Bidha used to carry plastic surgeries in Kangra out.

The Sushruta Sanhita and the Charaka Sanhita are on the list of earliest known manuscripts (the Indian science). Chronologically speaking, the Charaka Sanhita is considered to be the earliest work, and deals comprising several passages on operation and appropriate. The Sushruta Sanhita, a work of the early centuries primarily deals with surgical knowledge as an alternative to medicine. The Sushruta Sanhita that was first was based on some lectures (or Dhanvantari) and his disciples, Sushruta and others.

In 15th Century Europe, a guy by the name of an associate of the Teutonic Order of Knights, a German doctor and Heinrich von Pfolspeundt was among the very first Europeans that are known. During his time, many of German doctors, particularly those helped to serve the promotion of the study. Dr. Pfolspeundt described a process to make a new nose for a man who lacks one. He said that suturing the back of the arm into place and by removing skin from it a fresh nose could be created.

From Italy we have records that would indicate this in the year 1442, Branca, a surgeon carried plastic surgery of the nose, also called rhinoplasty, out using a skin flap in the face. This process was quite much like the one described in the Sushruta Sanhita, an Ayurvedic compendium composed in the early centuries. His son Antonio was the first known to make use of a skin flap for re-building the nose in the arm and continued his work. The plastic procedures performed by the Boinia brothers are described in a publication printed in 1568 by Fioravanti, a physician of Bologna, Italy.

At the hands (1546-99), a professor of operation and of physiology extensive popularity was achieved by that plastic surgery in Europe. His novel De curtorum chirurgia (flaws by implantation)'s operation was the first scientific composition. Tagliacozzi had described an approach to substitution of replacement and lips and by skin in the arm, exhibiting his work through a lot of illustrations.

Cosmetic surgery was regarded by the Church dignitaries as an interference in the matters of the Almighty. After his departure they excommunicated Tagliacozzi, but also had his corpse put it in unconsecrated earth, and exhumed from its church grave. The great Voltaire (1694-1778) composed a satirical poem on Tagliacozzi's surgery on the nose and he, using flap in the buttocks.

Nevertheless, because of the many risks of operation cosmetic surgery was seldom performed until around the 1900's.

You will find two really extensive areas of Reconstructive Surgery, Cosmetic Surgery and aesthetic operation. Instances of such procedures are amputated or damaged legs or arms; fixing lips or cleft palates, poorly formed noses, and ears; and re-building a breast. Reconstructive surgery may contain transferring tissue from the rest of the body to the region that is affected.

Cosmetic surgery yet, is an elective operation, normally done more for aesthetic reasons rather than to fix a region that is injured. Oftentimes, nevertheless, there are medical reasons for having some processes done, including breast reduction (for back pain alleviation) and Mastopexy (also known as a "breast lift).

You'll find many more processes not listed here that are generally performed at the same time.

Plastic Surgery has a longstanding history, as you are able to see. It's helped in the reconstructive plastic surgery area but has enabled individuals to feel more assured and more comfortable about themselves.

  1. I don't have anything against reconstructive plastic surgery, it is always nice to see these people gain back their self confidence. The only problem is that some of those undergoing aesthetic procedures, they tend to abuse this and sometimes you cannot recognise them anymore. Instead of the procedure making them prettier it's the other way around. Anything excessive is always dangerous.

  2. Agree with the comment of Violy. The high standards of beauty in some societies (such as in S. Korea) has forced many teenage girls to go under the knife. While I have nothing against plastic surgery, I wish that more people can become confident in their own skin.

  4. wow, I never knew plastic surgery exists way before our time. Reconstructive surgery is okay for me but cosmetic surgery, I have nothing against it but it's not for me I guess. I just love the idea how surgeons can totally redo your whole look

  5. Plastic surgery way back then looks scary. Good thing that nowadays, it was perfected and many people use it to gain more "self confidence". Although sometimes, it was used the wrong way like for example, to get another identity and hide from the law enforcement agency (yeah, saw this stuff many times on movies).

  6. I am open minded in terms of plastic surgery but I will not undergo that kind of procedure to look good. Looking back to the history, it was only used for medical purposes and apparently right now, it was being used as the other way around.

  7. I guess it all depends on the reasons why people need it that makes it good or bad.

  8. Plastic Surgery is not bad as long as you are happy and contented with the result. Only problem here is that Plastic Surgery becomes an excuse for those who wanted to change their face because they are being chase by the police, or they've done something wrong and need to change their identity.

  9. I didn't know that plastic surgery was already available before. It's a much refined process now and is now a more acceptable procedure.
